Mission
We are looking for a talented student to join the Molecular and Cell Biology team within Almirall Research Department for a one-year internship. During this time, the intern will focus on several key areas such as target assessment and the development of novel modalities for use in drug discovery. This includes the evaluation and development of cellular models and cellular assays aimed at characterizing potential therapeutics for autoimmune and inflammatory skin diseases. The student will gain profound knowledge in cellular assay development, become familiarized with drug discovery in a pharmaceutical company, and learn about the requirements to move a potential therapy approach forward.
Tasks and Responsibilities
* Provide support in the design and execution of different in vitro assays to study antibody interactions, cell signaling, and quantifications of protein or mRNA.
* Analyze, interpret, and present the obtained data efficiently.
* Collaborate and interact fluidly with other members of the department to share information and results that allow the evolution of the project.
* Support operational laboratory activities such as the organization of reagents, coordination of equipment, or other organizational tasks to help the team in their day-to-day work.
Requirements & Education
* Completed bachelor or master studies in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, or similar.

* Minimally 6 daily working hours on Almirall site.
* Length of internship: 11 or 12 months.
* Registration in a Spanish university or academic institution required.
Skills
* Highly motivated and driven to learn about immunological science and cell assays.
* Basic knowledge about molecular biology, cell culture, and/or immunology.
* Experimental background in cell culture and cellular assays (cell seeding, cell treatment) would be desirable.
* Theoretical and experimental background in basic molecular biology techniques (immunoblotting, qPCR, ELISA) would be desirable.
* Experience in primary cell culture and immune cell isolation would be a plus.
* Strong team player with the ability to communicate effectively.
