You will work as part of the Operations team to design & execute the Environment, Health & Safety related aspects for our manufacturing location in Attibele. This is an individual contributor role.
Position Overview:
The EHS Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, occupational health and safety, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
2. Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and operations to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
3. Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on safety procedures and best practices.
4. Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective action plans.
5. Coordinate with regulatory agencies and external consultants to ensure compliance with all environmental regulations.
6. Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to environmental, health, and safety performance.
7. Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
8. Participate in the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety management.
3. Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master's degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, or a related field.
2. Professional certification (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist).
3. Experience working in manufacturing industry.
4. Experience with sustainability reporting and initiatives.
Travel:
This position may require occasional travel to other company locations or off-site meetings.
