Professional Tax Specialist (with experience in end-client services)
We are actively seeking a Tax Senior Expert with extensive experience working with end clients and in consulting roles, to join a prominent multinational pharmaceutical company. Main tasks and responsibilities:
1. Coordination, supervision, and review of the preparation of the recurrent tax returns of the countries in scope. This includes support, coordination of experts working for complex countries, and review of the most complicated tasks performed by experts.
2. Lead and contribute to improving tax processes and implementation of innovation and standardization to enhance overall tax compliance quality.
3. Ensure quality of tax-related accounting data by monitoring and implementing control checks as well as monitoring and following up with other internal departments and local tax authorities.
4. Support in solving, following up on issues, and looking for solutions across the team.
5. Support and coordination of global activities carried out in different teams.
6. Responsible for coordinating calls with Country tax organization, monitoring and improving tax KPI country data, tax issues, etc.
7. Follow up on any new legislation affecting the tax compliance of the countries in scope.
8. Participate actively in meetings with our business partners (legal, business finance, IT, and accounting teams) to share information and address various business initiatives.
9. Management of the notifications and requirements from the tax authorities.
10. Depending on the country, either main contact to tax authorities and auditors or support local teams or outsourcers in tax audits by compiling and preparing the requested information and documentation.
11. Lead projects and transitions and/or support local and global projects.
12. Manage knowledge by guiding, documenting, and training company’s process and control standards. Support knowledge management activities as part of daily tasks.
13. Partner with the Tax Center of Excellence (CoE) to ensure globally defined standards and activity splits, as well as liaise with the GBS network regarding tax issues and to implement desired and necessary processes and changes.
14. Prepare and conduct training related to tax processes for process stakeholders and the Tax Team.
Who you are:
1. BA/BS degree in Tax/Fiscal, Finance, Accounting, Law, or Business with 4+ years of experience in taxes.
2. Proven professional tax practice in multinational companies and preferably experience in international tax firms. Experience in GBS centers is a plus.
3. Sound experience across Tax Operations, Tax accounting/reporting, Corporate Income Tax, Indirect Taxes, International Tax.
4. Strong tax judgement and business knowledge or ability to quickly learn.
5. Skillful in SAP FI/CO module, good overview of interfaces with other modules and advanced level of Microsoft Office applications.
6. Knowledge of the Accounting, Tax, and Finance relevant processes in a legal entity and at the group level of multinational companies and their point of intersection with other business processes.
7. Advanced level of capability to translate digital technologies into processes.
8. Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
9. Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy, initiative, and reliability.
10. Ability to work through ambiguity and use sound judgement in making decisions.
11. Excellent communication skills and analytical thinking, ability to interact with Finance and non-Finance staff at various levels.
12. Good level of ability to establish and maintain a sustainable stakeholder network.
13. Pro-active attitude & Team player.
14. A high proficiency level in English, both written and spoken, completes your profile. Additional languages are a plus.
15. Well-structured, organized, flexible and happy to work within a changing working environment.
