Medical Team Management
* Ensure the medical team is effectively processing medical assistance cases in accordance with established procedures for international medical assistance.
* Lead the medical team, fostering a collaborative and productive team spirit, monitoring productivity, and participating in size requirement definition.
* Ensure 24/7 medical coverage, including on-call doctors.
* Validate internal escorts (when nurses or doctors travel to repatriate a patient) and necessary medical equipment.
Patient Care and Quality Assurance
* Responsible for ensuring that patients are evaluated and receive medical care at the highest level of medical expectation within the group (generally at the level of the most developed healthcare systems).
* Monitor the quality of service delivered by all medical team members, identifying any training requirements or senior intervention needs.
* Act as the medical lead and decision-maker in the medical team’s daily case review meetings when on duty.
* Provide support to team members on a consultative basis, including daily case reviews and any relevant matters.
Case Management
* Actively manage complex medical assistance cases.
* Advise on the most appropriate repatriation plan if applicable.
* Meet the needs of ATI’s and local clients by ensuring patients, relatives, and traveling companions receive reassurance and medical advice during the provision of medical assistance services, including direct contact with these customers when necessary.
Communication and Coordination
* Provide support to operational teams through effective communication with coordinators and agents as required.
* Ensure accurate medical records are recorded in the company’s computer system.
* Ensure optimum communication and support between medical and operational teams, facilitating teamwork.
Governance and Improvement
* Provide guidance on clinical governance and ensure continuous improvements in medical operational service delivery.
* Be part of the escalation process for medical, repatriation, Red Flags, or any delicate case queries.
* Participate in the Crisis Cell when activated.
Strategic Support and Development
* Support AXA Partners' strategy, particularly actions to digitalize our processes, reduce average costs, and increase productivity.
* Support the development and implementation of any medical services offered by the geo, including but not limited to tele-consultation, corporate mobility, second opinion programs, and other emergency and non-emergency products.
* Support the Medical Network Department.
Cultural Alignment
* Understand and demonstrate the culture and values within AXA.
Minimum Requirements:
* At least 10 years clinical experience.
* Negotiation level (C1) of Spanish and English, French being a plus.
* Minimum 5 years in Critical Setting – ITU, A+E, Internal Medicine with critical care experience.
* Maintains currency in clinical practice.
* An experienced, self-motivated professional person with a high level of customer focus.
* Evidence of current professional registration with the appropriate professional body.
* Knowledge of indications/contraindications of medical transport, particularly aeromedical.
* Experience in disaster medicine.
* Minimum 3 years experience in worldwide medical assistance.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Experience in managing teams of professionals.
* I.T. skills, including Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
* Adaptability and able to work under pressure.
* A commitment to the development of the company through setting high standards.
* A willingness to undertake new challenges, and work across functions under own initiative.
* To act as a change agent and be an influencer to achieve business targets.
