About the Role
MadCollective is looking for a Financial Controller to join our growing Finance team in Barcelona. As a Financial Controller, you will report to the Finance Manager and participate in all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, international regulatory and financial reporting, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.
The role will also involve financial risk management. This position will be a hybrid role for controlling and accounting, so you should have the proper accounting knowledge.
Responsibilities:
* Responsibility for consolidated month-end reporting and product P&L reporting
* Collaborate on the preparation of the Group forecast and budget
* Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
* Coordinate external financial audits for different international subsidiaries and be the main contact for the Group auditor
* Work closely with project leaders and product leaders to provide dynamic, relevant, and timely reporting to improve decision-making across the organization
* Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen the internal controls framework
* E nsure compliance with regulations efficiently
* Improve control processes empowering data accuracy
* Monitor the cash flow into and out of the organization
* Review all the PnL and Balance Sheet accounts
Requirements:
* Bilingual level in both Spanish and English
* Advanced degree in accounting or similar
* 4-5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
* Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
* Advanced MS Excel skills
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills
* Excellent communication skills and proactive attitude
* Able to work in a dynamic work environment, understanding the growth stage in an organization, and associated cost-benefit analysis regarding structure, processes, and risk
* Roll up the sleeves and get it done attitude
Desired Skills:
1. Experience in audit experience (preferable Big 4)
2. IFRS and Spanish GAAP accounting knowledge
3. International experience working and living outside of Spain
4. Experience with the business model (e-commerce)
