Akens \ Nordburg is looking for a Country Manager to lead the Spanish subsidiary of a German company in the plastics sector. The professional will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the company in the markets of Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy, ensuring sustainable business growth, profitability, and alignment with the company's global vision.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and implement the business strategy in the assigned markets, in alignment with the headquarters in Germany.
* Manage and optimize the financial performance of the subsidiary, ensuring the achievement of revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency objectives.
* Lead, motivate, and develop the management team and employees, fostering a high-performance and committed culture.
* Take direct responsibility for sales and lead the commercial team to maximize growth and market penetration.
* Drive company growth through the development of new clients, markets, and business opportunities.
* Establish and strengthen relationships with key clients, strategic partners, and relevant stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate standards in all operations.
* Oversee purchasing, sales, logistics, administration, and finance areas, ensuring a high level of quality and service.
* Work closely with the headquarters in Germany to align the subsidiary with the company's global objectives.
* Coordinate with the headquarters and other group companies in the region to ensure synergies and strategic alignment.
Requirements
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in general management, business unit management, or commercial or purchase leadership roles in industrial companies, in the plastic industry (or related materials).
* Strong knowledge of the plastics market in Europe and experience in sales, operations management, or procurement in the assigned countries.
* Strong leadership skills, strategic vision, and results-oriented approach.
* Experience in financial management and P&L control.
* Commercial and negotiation skills to establish and consolidate strategic relationships.
* Fluency in Spanish and English; knowledge of German and/or French is a plus.
* Availability to travel frequently within Europe.
