Application-Specific Integrated Circuit Designer
We’re a fast-moving technology company focused on bringing to market innovative solutions that solve complex industrial problems in the field of non-intrusive inspection. We are one of the spin-off companies of the High Energy Physics Institute (IFAE) of Barcelona. So you’ll be part of a highly accomplished team with top scientists, professional engineering development and enthusiastic entrepreneurs.
We are looking for a highly motivated mixed-signal ASIC design researcher/engineer for the development, implementation and characterization of pixelated readout chips for the next generation of X-Ray Line Spectral Cameras in collaboration with the ASIC Design Team, external Engineering Companies, and Microelectronics Research Groups at Universitat de Barcelona (UB), and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
Responsibilities
* Design of custom Analog/Mixed-Signal circuits including system conceptual design, architecture evaluation, circuit implementation, simulation (At the IP and top SOC levels), layout and extraction, and verification
* Elaboration of periodical technical documentation and reports related to the ASIC
* Experimental characterization of the ASICs
Minimum Requirements
* Ph.D./Master’s degree in Electrical (Microelectronics) Engineering. Minimum of 5 years experience in the design, development and test of analog/mixed-signal IC design
* Vast experience in design, layout, and post-layout simulations of pre-amplifiers, operational and shaping amplifiers, comparators, TDCs, DACs and ADCs.
* Demonstrated experience in ROICs for HEP detectors is a major plus
* Proficiency in the use of advanced schematic and layout tools (e.g. Cadence IC design package, and Analog/Mixed signal simulation methods such as Monte Carlo)
* Good knowledge of the operation modes of common instrumentation equipment such as oscilloscope, ADC, DAC, and waveform generators
