Innovation & Business Development Manager
Are you a business development professional with a track record of securing public funding that is looking for a new role in a high growth scaling Spain based team? At European Tech Recruit, we are working alongside a high growth startup, helping them to bring on board an Innovation & Business Development Manager. The team is developing a compute platform for high performance computing with software utilizing real-time telemetry and intelligent algorithms to optimize performance, power efficiency, and scalability dynamically for HPC and AI workloads.
Responsibilities
* Driving business development in key sectors, including finance, energy, manufacturing, logistics, and cybersecurity.
* Identifying growth opportunities across various geographies and industry verticals.
* Building and managing strategic relationships with global clients and industry partners.
* Leading the formation of consortia to secure public and private funding, supporting the company’s expansion.
* Developing and overseeing grant proposals, ensuring both technical and financial requirements are met.
* Collaborating with internal teams to achieve objectives in collaborative R&D projects.
* Identifying and recommending new applications for quantum and generative AI technologies.
* Tracking and reporting on the progress of R&D projects and funding proposals.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, or related disciplines).
* At least two years of demonstrated experience in securing public funding, preferably for R&D projects at the national or European level.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and close business opportunities.
* Proficiency in English and Spanish (both spoken and written).
* Experience in consortium building and collaborative project management.
* Ability to work effectively in international and multicultural teams, both on-site and remotely.
Preferred Qualifications
* In-depth knowledge of quantum technologies, AI, and data analytics.
* Previous experience in a similar role within consulting, technology firms, or R&D-driven organizations.
* Familiarity with the public funding landscape in Europe and other key regions (North America, Asia).
* Proficiency in additional languages, preferably French or German.
* Strong ability to build and manage relationships with key clients and partners in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
