As an integral part of Werfen, a global healthcare company dedicated to delivering the highest quality in vitro diagnostics products, we are looking for a Technical Support Scientist I. She/he performs a broad range of laboratory work requiring application of professional judgment in the selection of specialized methods and techniques, and their application to specific tasks. Provides project updates, performs specialized lab techniques, and follows good laboratory documentation practices. Provides specialized technical assistance in the different areas of production, research and development, and quality control to guarantee the correct performance of products, implement process improvements within the quality specifications, and support product transfer from R&D to production department.
Knowledge & Experience:
* Required: Bachelor’s degree in the biological or related sciences
* Valuable: Any additional degree higher than that required previously
* Basic in Office Tools (Excel & Word), and required basic knowledge in SAP
* Fluency in Spanish or Catalan. Advanced knowledge of English (reading and speaking)
* Ideally with valuable knowledge on Biotechnology, ISO, GMP’s, FDA rules, and Lean environments
Key Accountabilities:
* Performs an expanded range of laboratory procedures and experiments.
* Periodically communicates problems and progress to supervisor.
* Occasionally communicates status updates and results across the organization.
* Presents results to senior/other research staff.
* Selects appropriate experimental and analytical methods and defines protocols.
* Schedules own and technician tasks and activities in accordance with assignments and priorities.
* Detects deviations in results and potential problems, recommends modification in protocols or standard methodology to define the causes of deviations and overcome problems.
* Under the supervision and approval of his/her supervisor, writes specialized laboratory procedures and reviews existing Procedures and Methods.
* Compiles and interprets experimental data, performs calculations, and prepares graphs to present and discuss them with his/her supervisor.
* Maintains electronic or paper laboratory notebook making sure that all data is accurately recorded in accordance with guidelines and procedures.
* Prepares the documentation to support the activities derived from NC, CAPA, RCI.
* Participates in activities related to continuous improvement, 5S, and Lean Six-Sigma.
