We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager with a strong background in procurement and supply chain management, specifically within the chemical industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and inventory optimization. This role is critical to ensuring the seamless supply of raw materials and services while driving cost efficiency and maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Sourcing:
Develop and implement procurement strategies to secure reliable and cost-effective suppliers.
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, focusing on quality, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
* Supplier and Product Development:
Search for new products and innovative solutions to meet market demands.
Identify and establish relationships with new suppliers to expand the company's sourcing network.
* Supplier Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to ensure optimal agreements.
Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or non-conformances.
* Procurement Operations:
Manage the procurement of raw materials, equipment, and services, ensuring timely delivery to meet production schedules.
Collaborate with R&D and production teams to source specialty chemicals and new materials.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including REACH, ADR, and other relevant standards.
* Cost Management:
Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Monitor and optimize procurement budgets while maintaining quality standards.
* Inventory and Risk Management:
Develop inventory strategies to minimize stockouts and overstocking.
Mitigate supply chain risks by diversifying suppliers and monitoring global market conditions.
* Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement professionals.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Qualifications and Experience
* Education:
Degree in Chemistry, or a related field.
Advanced certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, or APICS) are a plus.
* Experience:
Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the chemical industry.
Proven experience in sourcing chemical raw materials and managing complex supplier networks.
* Skills:
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
In-depth knowledge of chemical industry regulations (e.g., REACH, IMDG, ADR).
Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
