Your mission
Lead the design, implementation, and management of cloud architecture and data engineering, ensuring a robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure that supports the operations and strategic objectives of the pharmaceutical laboratory. Also, drive the Data & Analytics strategy.
Coordinate and execute the development of transversal projects focused on new data products/services, open and collaborative data innovation, and new methodologies.
Responsibilities
1. Design and develop cloud architecture to support large-scale applications, data science, and analytical capabilities, ensuring that the cloud architecture meets security, privacy requirements.
2. Implement and strategize FinOps to bring financial accountability to the cloud and make informed, data-driven decisions when managing trade-offs between speed, cost, and performance.
3. Oversee the design and implementation of data engineering solutions that enable efficient storage, accessibility, and analysis of large volumes of data.
4. Optimize data integration and processing workflows to enhance performance and scalability.
5. Collaborate with other technology leaders and business units to integrate cloud and data solutions across the company.
6. Provide guidance on best practices and emerging technologies in cloud architecture and data engineering.
7. Lead key cloud infrastructure and data engineering projects, managing resources and timelines.
8. Develop and manage the department's budget, optimizing costs and resource efficiency.
9. Promote continuous professional development of the technical team.
10. Maintain and enhance the team's and companies competencies in cloud technologies and data engineering.

Requirements
What you’ll need to succeed

19. Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
20. Previous experience in a similar role: At least 5-10 years of experience in data management, data engineering, or data architecture roles.
21. Experience in cloud solution architecture, including the design, implementation, and management of cloud infrastructure.
22. Ability to design scalable and secure data architectures, including the selection of appropriate technologies for data storage, processing, and analysis.
23. Proficiency in Microsoft Azure services and tools.
24. Knowledge in creating and maintaining data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts.
25. Skill in building and managing efficient data pipelines for the ingestion, processing, and transformation of large volumes of data.
26. Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes in cloud environments.
27. Knowledge of best practices in information security, data encryption, and regulatory compliance in the cloud.
28. Experience in implementing DevOps practices, including deployment automation and infrastructure management as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or ARM templates.
29. Excellent written and spoken communication skills (minimum English and Spanish)
30. Strategic business vision, excellent communication skills capable of generating impact within the organization, team player, leadership and team development.
