The German Content and Community Manager will be responsible for curating and managing content in German, engaging with our online communities, and ensuring that content resonates with our target audience. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to build and sustain brand presence across Germany and other German-speaking regions.
The ideal candidate is a native German speaker with strong writing skills, an in-depth understanding of community management, and a passion for content creation.
Key Responsibilities :
Content Creation and Strategy :
1. Social Copywriting: Write captions and visual copy for monthly content calendars, campaigns, and ad hoc requests.
2. Develop, adapt, and execute content strategies tailored for the German-speaking market, ensuring alignment with global brand messaging and objectives.
3. Write and edit high-quality content for social media, ensuring clarity, creativity, and brand consistency.
Community Engagement :
1. Engage with the audience by tagging, liking, hiding, commenting, reposting, and managing raffles.
2. Coordinate with media agencies to send approved content, create content calendars per brand, schedule and post content on weekdays (including teaser stories), and optionally cover weekend posting.
3. Monitor discussions, respond to user inquiries, and maintain positive relationships with community members, enhancing brand loyalty.
4. Actively listen to customer feedback and trends, providing valuable insights to internal teams.
Campaign Support :
1. Collaborate with creative teams to produce compelling content for social media campaigns, product launches, and influencer collaborations.
2. Support the execution of community-driven initiatives and campaigns to increase brand awareness and customer engagement.
Analytics and Reporting :
1. Monitor performance metrics, track engagement levels, and generate reports on community growth and content impact.
2. Generate basic community management reports, including comment analysis, sentiment insights, UGC opportunities, and trend spotting. Prepare monthly reports for Alpro, Volvic Vitamin+, and Volvic Tea Recipe.
3. Provide data-driven recommendations to improve content strategy and community interaction.
Cross-functional Collaboration :
1. Work closely with global and regional marketing teams to ensure the content strategy aligns with broader company goals and brand voice.
2. Collaborate with designers and copywriters to create compelling multimedia content that resonates with the German-speaking audience.
Qualifications & Skills :
Experience :
1. Proven experience (2+ years) in content creation, community management, or social media management, ideally within the FMCG or creative agency sector.
2. Familiarity with German digital culture and consumer behavior, particularly within the context of FMCG brands.
Language Skills :
1. Native-level fluency in German (written and spoken).
2. Strong command of English is essential for collaborating with global teams.
Skills :
1. Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor content for different platforms and audience segments.
2. Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.), as well as content management systems and social listening tools.
3. Ability to engage with online communities in an authentic, thoughtful, and brand-aligned manner.
4. Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and community building.
5. Experience with content scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social).
6. Basic knowledge of SEO and web analytics (Google Analytics, etc.).
7. Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus but not required.
